Overview

Bulgaria has become increasingly attractive to venture and technology growth investors.

NBLO is proud to have been part of this process from the beginning. We hosted Bulgaria’s first large conference on venture capital in 2010. We have since worked with a number of local and international funds.

We are also early members of the Bulgarian Venture Capital Association. Through the BVCA we regularly influence government policy, advise stakeholders and develop standardised investment-related documentation.

We also collaborate with the European Seedsummit.org initiative (led by Carlos Espinal of Seedcamp) on standard-setting.

Our assistance

In advising funds or investors – alone or in conjunction with leading counsel –  among others, we:

• advise on local law legal due diligence issues
• advise on local corporate law
• assist with the restructuring of Bulgarian companies for the purpose of late seed, venture or later rounds of investment
• help with the negotiation and drafting of local law articles of association/corporate constitutions/bye-laws to give effect to a proposed shareholders’ agreements
