A public concert as an infringement of trade mark: Boney M
18 November 2020NBLO’s team recently helped the owner of the Boney M trade mark. The mark was registered by one of the members of the well-known 1970s disco band Boney M. On the basis of the registration, cease-and-desist notices were sent in connection with the planning of a concert at the prestigious National Palace of Culture in Sofia, Bulgaria.
We conducted the process out-of-court and were responsible throughout. There was a consensual withdrawal of the infringing performer from the infringing use of the name and materials. The advertisements and marketing materials were removed, amended and destroyed, respectively.
