NBLO helps UK company utilise Service Supplier Visa
25 November 2022New Balkans Law Office (NBLO) has recently provided extensive legal assistance in a case involving the newly introduced UK visas; more specifically, the Service Supplier Visa, which came into effect in April 2022.
Our team was approached by Red Vertex OOD, an established Bulgarian company specialising in architectural visualisations. This company wished to supply services to a UK start-up. NBLO was honoured to act as the legal advisor to both the Bulgarian and the UK companies.
As a first step in the process, the team conducted a careful and thorough review of the eligibility of the UK company to become a sponsoring employer. Generally, in order for an employer to hire someone outside of the UK (this includes citizens of the EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland who arrived in the UK after 31 December 2020), they must have obtained a sponsoring licence. We determined that the Service Supplier Visa would be the best fit for this particular situation.
After identifying the licence and visas that will best suit the client and the employees, NBLO guided both companies step by step during the process, with a focus on ensuring compliance with the current immigration rules and regulations. As part of this, our team advised not only on immigration law, but also provided advice on the tax and corporate law implications for the Red Vertex OOD. We ensured that every detail was well taken care of and fully understood by the clients.
NBLO’s team included Partner Kamen Shoylev, who is dual qualified in Bulgaria and England, Partner Nevena Bekyarova, and Associates Ivan Petrov and Sylvia Vitlarova. If you have any legal needs related to operating businesses internationally, please do not hesitate to contact us. The team at NBLO would be happy to assist you.
