Our team includes two partners, ten associates and two support staff. Further on-call counsel are available for specific projects. Two of our partners share their time between Bulgaria and the UK with the remaining staff based out of Bulgaria.

Giteva, Dilyana

Profile: Dilyana was a participant in a Public Interest Law programme at the Columbia University, NY and participated in drafting the first Bulgarian anti-discrimination statute. She is uniquely positioned to advise employers on adjusting to the new regime and has acted on behalf of claimants in bringing test cases to establish the limits of the new legislation in employment. Dilyana also deals with a considerable amount of property transactions and is one of NBLO's senior advisors in the field.

Iordanova, Nadejda

Profile: Before joining New Balkans Law Office, Nadejda ran an ambitious and highly successful multi-year project for the United States government in Bulgaria. She has previous experience as a lawyer in Bulgaria and internationally, including time with a construction law Barristers' set and an international law firm in London.

Marcheva, Deyana

Deyana has very strong negotiating, conferencing and dispute-resolution skills having recently acted for multinational financials and corporates, eg on lease and real estate acquisitions. She has extensive advisory experience domestically and internationally and her work crosses multiple jurisdictions. Prior to this, Deyana spent a year at Oxford University researching legal theory.

Stoyanov, Valentin
Year of Qualification: 2005
Specialist Areas: Banking and Finance, Corporate and commercial, Employment and Mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to joining New Balkans Law Office, Valentin was involved in the development of Bulgarian banking regulation. More recently, he has been interested in listing regulations and the law relating to quoted public companies and has advised extensively in this area in addition to accepting an appointment as a non-executive director to a Sofia listed Bulgarian company in the energy sector. Valentin is a fluent German and English speaker.
