Legal services to private clients involved in bulgaria
We advise individuals, families and employers on all aspects of Bulgarian immigration law. Our particular expertise has been in the preparation of residence applications for the employees of both multinational corporations and SMEs entering Bulgaria and in advising persons of independent means, retirees and self-employed individuals on successfully filing applications to reside in Bulgaria from outside the EU. We regularly represent persons of Bulgarian origin in reacquiring citizenship and act for foreign employees in administrative disputes with the authorities, as well as in securing equal treatment or other entitlements. Our practice in immigration law ties with our strong experience in employment matters and anti-discrimination law.
For our nationality advisory practice to persons of Bulgarian origin, please see further Bulgarian Passports, our dedicated micro site.
We have also produced several practice notes on the topic of Bulgarian citizenship, which offer guidance on the routes to citizenship which are available.
To learn about acquiring Bulgarian citizenship on the basis of origin, please download our practice note available here. This note outlines the requirements and process of taking this route to citizenship.

Alternatively, a new business immigration program for residence and citizenship was introduced in 2009 by the amended Foreigners in the Republic of Bulgaria Act. It provided a fast and facilitated procedure for obtaining a residence permit for foreign investors who have invested in Bulgaria more than 1,000,000 BGN (€ 511.292). These benefits have been outlined in our specialist brochure available here as well as addressing the basics of the procedure and the investment options available to investors.
